Step forward Charlie Mulgrew

The injury to Izzy has handed big Charlie Mulgrew the chance to show us what he has as a left back.

Charlie was one of our unsung signings from last season. It's fair to say that most fans were not to impressed when Neil Lennon brought Charlie back to Celtic for a second time. He played a few games at left back early last season but never looked too convincing except for one SPL game at Celtic park when he played really well but pulled up with a hamstring injury and had to go off.

Charlie was sidelined for a while but when he returned to the first team playing left mid against Rangers at Ibrox he started to look like a player.

Charlie then spent the majority of the season covering the Centre Half position and the truth is he done it with ease. In many games he was our best centre half and finally won the hearts of his doubters.

Now he has a new challenge filling in for izzy. I think he'll do a great job in his absence. Charlie has pace, good vision and a sweet left foot and I'm sure once he settles into the role he'll do a great job for us.

All the best Charlie.
