Well I never expected this after the defeat by FC Sion. The fact is I was so angry with the performance over the two legs that when I realised there was a possibility that we could get reinstated I did not want us reinstated!
However I’ve had plenty of time to calm down now and I’m delighted that we are still competing in Europe.
Tonight Athletico Madrid will prove a very tough test. Not only for the fact that they play in the best football league on the planet but also the fiasco our players and management have had to witness leading up to the game.
Let’s be honest none of us really knew we would be playing tonight for a fact until Tuesday when UEFA finally shut the door on FC Sion. Obviously that must have distracted the team from fully focussing on this match.
I don’t really have a lot of optimism going into this game simply because our form in Europe especially away from home has been dismal to say the least. I don’t think we’ll be embarrassed in anyway but I can see a 1-0 or 2-1 win for Madrid.
If we can get a draw I’ll be more than happy however if we get a win I’ll do a streak along the Gallowgait. For that to happen we’ll need some luck something which has sadly deserted us away from home in recent years.
So c’mon the Hoops! Remember it’s better than watching East Enders or fiddling your Tax returns.
