Playing Dundee Utd at their home ground can be a tricky affair so to leave with 3 points and a clean sheet is a good day at the coal face.
Celtic came firing out of the traps and basically gave Utd a doing in the first 20 mins of the game. Big Sammy lead the charge again setting up Stokesy early in the game. When Hooper scored a peach of a goal it looked like it would be a case of just how many we would score.
Well it never turned out that way. Celtic were good for the entire first half although they did seem to waste some of the possession. Dundee Utd never really threatened Forsters goal.
The second half saw a drop in performance from Celtic although the desire and hunger was still there. As the half went on Neil Lennon introduced Brown, Ki in place of Loovens and Stokes who seemed to be trying to break the world record for being off side. Big Victor Wanyama moved back to Central defence and once again was outstanding over the 90 mins. This allowed Ki and Brown to move into the midfeild in an attempt to open the middle of Utds defence but it never really had an impact as Gary Kenneth turned in good performance for Utd. Sammy went off the boil and we never capitalised on the corners or set pieces we had.
However I won’t grumble. Winning a game away from home and keeping a clean sheet will do for me. Once again the Celtic support were magnificent they are by far the best supporters in the land and continue to do the club proud.
Man of the match ? Who else but big Victor Wanyama a steal at 900k.
