St Johnstone V Celtic SPL 18/12/11 Preview

Back to the bread and butter tomorrow after a fairly successful Europa League campaign. I wasn’t keen on that competition because I felt it was a distraction from the real prize. The SPL title. Well I now admit I was wrong as I feel that the performances in that competition really helped restore belief within the team and helped pull us out of a poor start to the season.
These games after Europe can be tricky affairs. The amount of mental and physical effort that goes into playing top sides like Udinese can be draining, so tomorrow I’ll be happy with a competent performance and 3pts.
If the team can carry the commitment and vitality from the Udinese game into tomorrows game the St Johnstone would take a hammering but it’s never as easy as that. Looks as if Scott Brown will start tomorrow and I have a sneaky suspicion that Samaras will play from the start. The big guess is whether Izzy is included on the bench. If we seriously want him back for the upcoming Derby then he will need to start getting match time tomorrow.
As per usual we still have a list of injuries but we have coped well with that over the past six weeks. So at this moment in time I’ll be happy with 3pts regardless of how we get them we need to keep the pressure on till the 28th. I feel that will make a big difference.
Hail, Hail, Mon the hoops.

We can’t ignore the fact that there is a split in the support after the banner incident and comments made by representatives of the club yesterday. I know that it’s easier said than done but can we ask all Celtic supporters to put our differences to one side and concentrate on backing the team and the manager as we enter a very crucial period of games. The only people that will benefit from a split support is our opponents and detractors.
If you are unhappy with the club representatives then write or email them to get across your displeasure. We as a support should not be airing our dirty washing in public.
A quote from our Twitter account “The same Scots Press who are offended on UEFA’s behalf are the same who slagged them for doing RFC for Sectarian and racist chanting”. We should not be giving these lowlifes any ammunition.
Hail, Hail
