The Game is a Bogey

With todays news that the SPL board will vote through new regulations on the 30th April we can all well and truly say the game is a bogey.

Where does this leave sporting integrity?
Who will be next?
What is to stop Hearts or Dunfermline or Kilmarnock or indeed Celtic from increasing their debts to unsustainable levels by buying players they can not afford or improving their grounds or training grounds then saying “Sorry can’t pay you all”
Where does it stop?
What is to stop Ross County from spending £20M putting together a squad in the summer, securing top 6 status then going into liquidation?
Does this send out the message that cheats prosper while others that play within their means don’t?
This doesn’t just affect Celtic fans; this affects the WHOLE of Scottish football.
So what can we do?
What notice of the fans will the chairmen pay attention to?
WE can only grab their attention by getting them where it hurts, in the pocket!!!
Now I am normally against boycotts, as I believe that this affects the players on the park but I do believe in everyone’s right to peaceful protest but that would not work in this situation.
So can we the fans and I mean ALL fans of ALL SPL clubs get our message across?
Well I think we can, we can let ALL the club chairmen know how we ALL feel and let them know before the vote on 30th April.
There is no point boycotting this weekend’s games as they are organised by the SFA.
That only leaves the SPL games of the weekend 21/22 April! Most people will already have bought their tickets, so how can we get our message across. We can not hurt them in the pockets at these games as the tickets have been purchased, but we can get the message across that we can hurt you in the future.
If EVERY fan of EVERY SPL club goes to the game as usual to support their team as normal, but then at half time EVERY fan walks out and protests outside the stadium we can stand as one.
We can get the message over to the club chairmen that WE the fans of Scottish football will not stand by and see the game we love destroyed by greed.
We will not stand by and see cheating rewarded.
We will not allow the game to be tarnished.
We will not allow sporting integrity to die.
I believe that the majority of right minded fans will feel the same way and I include the majority of RFC fans in this as I believe that a lot of them are not happy with the way their club has been run lately and are ashamed by the shenanigans that have taken place. I also believe that a lot of them believe that they should pay their dues and will also see this as a cheat’s charter.
So we need to spread the word, by twitter, by Facebook, by email by word of mouth by any means available, lets go viral, that we the fans will not stand for it and that we WILL walk out en masse at half time at ALL games on the weekend 21/22 April.
ALL FANS UNITE AGAINST THE DEATH OF SPORTING INTEGRITY AND THE BEAUTIFUL GAME.

  1. Great post Alfie, But, !!!!
Whilst I agree that Rangers SHOULD DEFFO be punished for all deeds proved against them, I would still rather await the outcome of the various investigations into their practices… I worked for a major company years ago that offered us EBT’s the union guy said it was money for nothing, but the majority knocked them back….
Whyte apart, and surely every even handed fitba supporter must have sympathy for supporters of any club run by a fraudster like him. He had one plan in mind and that wis to bankrupt and liqudate RFC, thinking in his deranged mind that their supporters would think that would be okay, the man is deluded..
The lamb-eaters should have outed him instead of sucking up to him, calling him a billionaire at one point, when all he had was a quid..I think that the Lamb-eaters are getting off lightly here I realy do. I think it was James here on this site that said that the print press have had their day and that online the new media was the way forward. Why? because the print press cannot be trusted… Facts have proved James was spot on.
Now Murray is another kettle of fish, he tried to live large and saught glory for himself, sure their supporters bought into it, would we be any different, I don’t think so…… Do you? mibbee am the nia’ve one here.
I listened many times to Hugh Keevans etc say to their supporters on radio Clyde , “well you never complained when he (Murray) was spending the money”. But surely that is like blaming a wean because its parents spoiled it. …. I can’t remember, although I may well be wrong, many Tic supporters or forums shouting that Murray was a fraud and spending beyond his means, again I may well and probably am wrong, I am newish to online stuff
Surely the lamb-eaters failed Scottish fitba by sucking up to Murray, then Whyte, the press should be there to investigate etc as well as report on the goings on, not being lapdogs to Chairmen
A point to ponder; if they win the big tax case, (not likely) but if they do, the only debt they have is what Whyte ran up. And if they win the big tax case, they will be innocent of overspending / a lack of sporting integrity, or fraud (Whytes contribution apart of course)……. again I am open to be corrected,
Regarding SPORTING INTEGRITY, ….. We have to be honest with ourselves and not be nia’ve, sporting integrity goes out the window when money is in the frame…… Whilst I agree with much of what you say even Celtic will vote for rangers to be kept in the SPL, WHY? because of money. According to the BBC sport the nite on the radio they alluded to the “fact” that Celtic would be voting to keep rangers in, WHY? because of money.
Look at the Champions League, we have two qualifiers to get to the group stages, WHY? because the big money clubs wanted it to be harder for smaller countries to reach the group stages, WHY? because the bigger teams for the most part come from bigger countries ergo, more advertising revenue etc etc. Do you think Man U or Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich give a toss about “sporting integrity” or Eufa for that matter……not a chance mate, they only care about MONEY, end of…….
Nae matter the outcome, whether they are allowed back in or not, can you really see them being a threat for the forseable future? I can’t there is little doubt that Celtic will be ruling the roost for years to come, Champions League for the next few years will do me nicely. Even my rangers supporting mates concede that… 😉
