Steve Clarke On the verge of Joining Celtic ?

I have had calls from 2 people I trust who have informed me that Steve Clark will be appointed in a senior coaching role. It’s not normal for TCN to publish ‘hear say’ however I trust these people.
Steve Clarke was a part of the coaching set-up which saw Chelsea win two Premier League titles, an FA Cup and two League Cups over three seasons under Mourinho. During this period he completed his UEFA Pro Licence in 2006
2008 Clarke handed in his resignation to Chelsea, hoping to move to West Ham to be assistant to former Chelsea teammate Gianfranco Zola. Chelsea initially rejected his resignation, demanding compensation worth two years of Clarke’s salary. After a deal was agreed between the clubs, Clarke became West Ham’s first-team coach on 15 September. In 2010 Clarke left West Ham by mutual consent.
2011, Clarke was appointed first team coach at Liverpool by Kenny Dalglish. On 14th May 2012 Clarke offered his resignation Liverpool soon after Kenny Dalglish was sacked following Liverpool’s disappointing 8th spot finish in the Premier League, however it was declined. It’s believed that Clarke was given the green light by Brendan Rodgers who has just been appointed as Liverpool manager.
Clark no doubt will be replacing Alan Thompson who was recently dismissed by the Club and would certainly be a great addition to the coaching staff.
If so TCN welcomes Steve Clarke to Celtic and wish him much success with the Club.

  1. Seems wrong to me to be hailing the appointment of anyone when we’ve just got rid of a great servant of the club. Whatever has happened we should all be thankful to Alan for his contributions as both player and first team trainer, and sad that he is leaving under such circumstances. Thank you Alan and best of luck in future, ynwa

  3. I guess “the insiders” got it wrong this time..he actually became the manager of West Bromwich Albion, (on a 2 year basis) today.
    Hail Hail

    1. I never mentioned ‘insiders’ just 2 people I trust. I don’t have ‘insiders’ because I have no connection with anyone at board level at Celtic.

      1. I understand, James. Probably just my turn of phrase.
Anyway, I think he COULD have done a good job at CP, (but as for filling Alan Thomson’s boots? ..that would have been a VERY hard act to follow).
As I now live in the English Midlands, I’m gonna keep a wee eye on him, this comin’ season.. but must make it clear I am NOT a “Baggies” fan..
Sings (badly).. “Celtic, Celtic they’re the team for me”!
