CHARLES GREEN Purveyor of Horse Manure

Never got much of a sleep during the night so I read my way through all the on line MSM news papers knowing full well that they would be fully concerned with the club formally known as Rangers FC in administration.
In a few of the articles I came across this utterance from Charles Green prospective bone picker of the almost defunct Rangers FC in administration. One of which was under the title of ‘Bury us and you kill Scottish Football’. Mr Green said:

“Let there be no doubt my first priority is Rangers.‘But I’m equally concerned about Scottish football‘ .

“If Rangers are suspended there is no Sky TV contract.

“There would be no Old Firm derbies. There would be no revenue for the smaller clubs when Rangers turn up.

“The knock-on effect from that would be catastrophic for Scottish football.”

Who does this guy think he is hood winking here ? He only turned up a few weeks ago announcing that he had a consortium with serious financial backing of which he has yet to name the majority of the ’20’ parties involved in this fairy tale consortium. Very few people in Scotland including the Rangers support had a clue who he was.
Now all of a sudden he is threatening SPL clubs with a doomsday scenario if they don’t allow a Newco direct entry into the SPL. His comment ‘But I’m equally concerned about Scottish footballis patronising as well as being total nonsense. This guy does not care a jot about Scottish football, I doubt very much that he cares for the future of the dying Rangers. Like Craig Whyte he seems like another chancer in to make a quick buck (‘possibly other peoples money) then disappear into the sun set.
He raises the old chestnut of no SKY TV deal, well quite frankly considering the pittance that brings in would we really miss it ? What’s to stop clubs or the SPL looking at setting up their own Pay per view TV even if it took a season to set up it would entice fans out of their armchairs and into football grounds plus there is the added bonus of every game kicking off at 3.00 on a Saturday.
Then we have ‘There would be no revenue for the smaller clubs when Rangers turn up‘. I’m sure RFC fans would still travel in considerable numbers to boost the attendances and coffers of clubs in the SFL as they worked their way back to the SPL. As for The knock-on effect from that would be catastrophic for Scottish football. What does he actually know about Scottish football and where is his proof to back his statement up  ?
Green comes across as an aggressive bully and if that is the type of person who will end up in control of this Newco then to me it’s another reason why they should not be allowed near the SPL.

  1. Just thought I’d add the other line we constantly trotted out that ‘sky demands 4 old firm fixtures per season’ now correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t that tantamount to match fixing? We do have a split after all and can sky really demand that RFC** don’t finish in the bottom 6? Also note how it’s only RFC** players/fans etc saying that Scottish football needs them, seems like a poor attempt at reverse psychology to me and that in fact RFC** needs Scottish football!
    **denotes soon to be liquidated

    1. Excellent point, but nothing would truly surprise me with the amount of blatant corruption that we have already been subjected too.

  3. Even if they get straight in to the SPL they will be a wounded animal owned by a man with an even smaller biscuit tin than Whyte. Managed by a failed TV pundit and a dissolutioned playing staff. Their revenues will be diminshed straight from the off with no European football for 3 years at least and never forget UEFA…they could impose even bigger sanctions. Also as Mrhappy quite rightly pointed out they dont have a right to finish in the top six.
Remember last season how many teams came close to skinning them. Its all about confidence in these teams as we know. We could see them next year well outside the top six.
I say bring it on…if they still have a ground and can play there.

  5. Can’t rfc/ supporters get it into their thick heads that no one wants. . .OR NEEDS THEM. Go away and don’t ever come back. Stop bothering people who are serious about the beautiful game. The SPL will do very, very well without Cheats like you. Goodbye!
