'A hypocrite, a racist and a Charlatan'

“A hypocrite, a racist and a Charlatan”, all three stunning qualities are neatly packaged into the living embodiment of the narrow-minded, lazy eyed and morally reprehensible British National Party leader and Member of European Parliament, Nick Griffin.
Though perhaps equally so to our Govan neighbours, dare I say.
He, Nick Griffin, is disgusting and an affront to common decency, he stands for the notorious element of a uniquely ‘British Empire’ psyche, the very one that raped and pillaged its way through the lesser developed nations during the age of discovery and latterly  during the imperial century of  1815-1914.
They say at one point in time , of a Britain then at the height of it’s all conquering, all-consuming, all-controlling and entirely hypocritical dominance of the globe, that “The sun never sets upon the British empire.”
Such was their vice like control of the earths surface that at no point in time were all of Britain’s colonial territories ever without sunlight. The ‘British Empire’ psyche were proud to point out their superiority over farther flung countries and continents.
At that time, Britain, proclaimed its perceived dominance both loudly and aggressively to the inhabitants of whatever unsuspecting nation they ‘conquered’…this was the age of great back-slapping, of great ignorance, of great arrogance and of great excess.
Ironic then that the narrow-minded, racist and near universally despised ‘conquerors of all’…were defended today by one who looks a mirror image of their ugly side.
Today, the morally bankrupt club were defended by the morally incomprehensible rantings of one of the ‘Great Britons’ of our age.
Only what wasn’t true of the bygone era, is startling converse in its modern counterpart…the resignation of others to the oppressive will of the imperial establishment is long gone.
In this modern world, challenging of  ‘the people’, be they powerful or not, is not so much accepted as encouraged.
You see no longer does the world meekly fold to the imposing size or reputation of anyone or anything…people now are much more aware of the power of their freedoms, of their rights and the strength of  democracy.
Never before had the British ‘pioneers’ faced such resistance as when the rising of other economic superpowers, places unreachable to its iron fist, came to challenge its previously held sense of omnipotence.
War, bitter and bloody, would follow, alliances old and new were formed, non of which it would appear were as mutually exclusive as those ‘arrangements’, held by the Empire beforehand.
Turbulent times most certainly tested the British colonies and their commitment to the cause and little by little, the empire began to fragment, Britain would eventually be alone, accessible and vulnerable, isolated and surrounded by the limitations of the seas they once proclaimed ‘to rule’..ah Grand Britannia, the mighty were falling!
Does that remind you of anything, or of anyone? Anyone perhaps, say,  in the isolated boundaries of say Scottish football?!
The parallels are uncanny…the tables have indeed turned, the sun may be setting upon the great establishment club, never to rise again.
The establishment club at present, akin to a sinking ship, is being ,erm…’captained’, ‘steered’, ‘commanded’ and failing so, by the latest in a series of like Charlatan-esque, hypocritical, egocentric owners. Indeed, Nick Griffin wouldn’t look out-of-place as an investor, his curious show of emotions and of defiance could easily indicate a personal sense of ownership in the once ‘great’ Scottish footballing superpower.
What a fit they both are!!
Anyway, the owner, I reuse to give this stupid, greedy and scare mongering old fool more column inches than necessary than that to have a ‘cheap’ laugh at his very ‘expense’.
That man however never fails to court controversy and to attract condemnation…today was no different.
Today his rantings were aimed at those players, you know the ones who dared to utilise their legal rights of this free society, to oppose his callous disregard for statutory legislation which empowers them to choose employment, which entitles them to be employed but not enslaved by the ’employer’.
Today he chose to raise his defiant and ugly little head above the parapet to vox his disapproved tone at those seemingly ‘disloyal servants’.
Today he, rather hypocritically I must add, called them ‘opportunists’. He implied by this comment that they sought to make personal gain from a bitter and wretched situation for ‘his’ club.
He clearly, and remember he didn’t even know who the late great Davie Cooper actually was, has been a long time fan and keen Rangers historian…after all tat is his only sense of purpose here; he is only at Rangers to save the club (oops too late), he is only here to preserve its tradition and to selflessly steer the ship through rocky waters.
My arse…he is the living embodiment of the Thatcherist rule, he is a modern imperialist, he is a vulture and a venture capitalist, though doesn’t venture and vulture sound alike?…they sure act out the same role.
Charles Green, like I still firmly believe is his boss, Craig Whyte, is only at Rangers to make a buck, or two , or three…he does do walking away, only he plans to ‘walk away’ whilst possessing  a great fat wad of cash by way of recompensment.
He ticks the hypocrite, he ticks the Charlatan…he may eventually tick all three boxes and show his racist side.
Yes the latest captain of the Rangers ship adrift in treacherous waters, he is the latest embodiment of a dictatorship…one akin to the ‘love child’ qualities, I’d assume of an unholy alliance of the British Empire and a certain Nazi leader…Queen Elizabeth Hitler would have created such a monstrous off spring.
Thank god the worlds changing, thanks god Scottish football appears now willing to keep pace with its democratic values…at long, long last the empire is folding!
It is being consumed by a great wave…a tide carrying great change you may say.
I just hope it takes every hypocrite, racist and Charlatan with it!!

  1. Great stuff Brian , it’s amazing now that that club has died there seems to be a lot of England tops being worn in Glasgow ,pity the FA dont want that club down there either .It’s a bit like ”zombies ,Dawn of the dead ”with them wandering about looking for a league to play in. Even the third division will knock them back.

    1. Thanks Dhougal. The dead club are just a lifeless carcass floating through the seas, waiting to be consumed by smaller species.
Green has property in mind, property which would define the true potential return on any investment. John Browns the latest pawn for some opportunist vulture to dangle. Rather late in the day…too late!!
