Votes not looking good for Sevco

I have just had a glance at a story on the STV Sports pages http://tinyurl.com/cyumge2 which shows the latest state of play in voting intentions of Scottish FL clubs before their vote on Friday as to whether they will let Sevco jump the queue into division one.
Now we all know that tis is a totally illegal act under current Scottish football laws but it seems like Sevco have a fight on their hands. At present of the 16 clubs who have declared their intentions it stands at 13 against and three for. With Airdrie Utd abstaining and Dundee barred from voting that leaves twelve clubs still to declare.
As far as I am aware it will be a simple matter of a majority vote to win the day. So as things stand Sevco need another 10 votes for entry to division one which at this stage does not look likely.
Ten clubs have still to declare. Albion Rovers, Alloa Athletic, Arbroath, Brechin City, East Stirlingshire, Elgin City, Forfar Athletic, Hamilton, Livingston, Montrose, Queen of the South, Queen’s Park. I find it hard to believe that all ten will vote in favour of the division one option. Some of these clubs n=may look forward to a nice boost to their coffers when Sevco visit but hopefully they will all see that the real value is keeping the integrity of the game in tact.
I also read on a blog this morning that Spartans are monitoring the situation with the intention of biding for the spare place a no vote would create in the third division.
The question now has to be asked. Will Sevco kick a ball in anger next season?
How do you think the vote will go ?
Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

  1. I would imagine that Queen’s Park who are ran by their fans would vote against as would Albion Rovers. I think the damage has already been done to these new proposals by both Donaster and Regans inept performances at last weeks meeting.
I wouldn’t rule out another attempt of gerrymandering by the SFA/SPL though as they are both desperate to have New Club in the SFL div 1.
My main concern is the lack of any statements by exsisting SPL clubs, Celtic included, about Doncasters attemps to rig things for New Club to gain entry into div 1. Are they complicite?

  3. I am a die in the wool Celtic fan and I will sorely miss playing the Gers. I hope they get into the first division. None of this is good for football and let’s face it Scottish football is already bad enough. The U.S. league is a better league than the Scottish league and that league is rubbish
