Mr Green better have deep pockets

Charles Green and his consortium better have some serious money at their disposal if they want to play in Scotland this season. The SFA have apparently laid down the law to Mr Green that is he wants to transfer the membership of the dead Rangers to his shiny new sevco club then he and his investors will have to agree to take on any punishments doled out to the dead club including the transfer embargo which to be honest looks like the least of his worries.
As stated on the STV sports pages
If he refuses, the governing body will either transfer the membership but allow their appellate tribunal to reconvene, leaving open the possibility of Rangers either being suspended from the game for an indefinite period or being thrown out of the game altogether.
Should Green decline those conditions, the Scottish FA will refuse to transfer the membership and, as Sevco Scotland Limited do not meet the necessary requirements, Rangers will not play professional football in Scotland at least for the next year.
The Scottish FA also want Green to agree to pay all outstanding football debt as another condition of the membership being transferred.
They also want the new company to take responsibility for any sanctions later imposed by the Scottish Premier League following its investigation into alleged non-contractual payments to players.
So it may still be the case that Sevco will not kick a ball in Scottish football this season.

  1. They think iIts all over. It is now. There is no way C Green can get this lame duck to fly. There may have been a slim chance before todays announcement re accepting sanctions but I believe this chance has now evapourated. The Newco Team will not play anywhere anytime. This shoiuld remove any doubt that the team once known as Rangers FC are gone forever never to return. Onwards and Upwards for the rest of us.
