Those who follow my blogs on TCN and myself personally on twitter will know of my love for all things CelticFamily & Charity.
It’s where we began and how we continue in many shapes & forms ranging from The Kano Foundation to Kibera Celtic.
The name Celtic is linked to charity throughout the world and nothing gives me the pleasure in taking this opportunity provided by The Celtic Network to preach of how we as a club & support continue to live by these values.
Last week you may remember my blog praising the efforts by those affiliated to Celtic Minded, Home Bhoys & Hoops4Haiti – Massive credit goes out too all involved.
This week though I wish to offer my support to some great work by a recently founded supporters club up north.
BishopCrosasCSC is a supporters group which is everything which we the new media Celtic family are about.
A group setup in honour of the official link between Celtic fans on twitter and players using social media. That link was Marc Crosas.
You see Marc was considered the Bishop on twitter as he would answer the calls from supporters online whether or not a newly created account bearing a player’s name was indeed authentic or not. Marc also became a cult hero within the Celtic Family simply for showing the love for the club he took within his heart.
With this is mind two lifelong Celtic supporters came together to create @BishopCrosasCSC
The lads are Aberdeen based, travel the country to watch our beloved hoops and with this they also add their own bit of charity work as is the norm with many Celtic supporters & groups.
On the 17th of November 2012 Celtic will be up in Aberdeen on league duty, after that though the BishopCrosasCSC bhoys are holding a special event.
A fund-raiser has been arranged on this date in honour of the Peter Brunt Clinic in Aberdeen who help people with kidney, liver and intestinal complications, a cause which has a deep root within the club for help provided to one of the CSC’s members.
The event itself will consist of well-known Celtic minded bands Charlie & The Bhoys & The Ryans Band playing as well other fund-raising events. More details of the event & ways to donate below.
IF your own CSC is up for the game, why not take the opportunity to make a day / night of it with what should be a crackin’ night, I’m sure the lads could offer advice on places to stay etc if required.
I know that I have TCN’s backing with this when I wish the BishopCrosasCSC all the very best of luck with this and any upcoming, future events.
Please allow me also to give a HUGE HailHail Kudos to Rhebel Rhebel – whenever anyone buys a CSC t-shirt the money goes to Celtic Graves, another great charity.
Rhebel Rhebel are another great part of the Celtic new media and alot of thanks goes to them for supporting supporter groups etc like BishopCrosasCSC.
