'Moving On Up'

St Mirren – Have signed former Rangers goalkeeper Grant Adam on a two-year deal.
Yes even after the St Mirren chairman’s recent declaration that his club would be unlikely to make any signings this summer, presumably said during the expectant Armageddon period in Scottish football, the reality is that St Mirren and other such clubs who declared such nonsense will sign players.

For a change however, and this should be seen from a positive not a negative perspective, such signings are likely to be better considered, appropriately financed and more youthful and indeed more often young Scottish prospects.
Today, pending official announcement, it would appear that young Grant Adam, brother of Charlie, may well have moved on from a club which signed him and nurtured him through the youth ranks. One who’s dressing culture may also have been thought to have negatively impacted upon his behaviour if his recent court appearances were anything to go by.
Anyway, the past should remain exactly there…in the past.
That is of course where his old club, Rangers, are now firmly positioned, so it seems only right to be so pragmatic.
I for one would just like to wish young Grant all the very best, I’m delighted to see a young Scottish lad progressing on to bigger and better things in his footballing career.
Oh how the tables have turned, a year or so ago, Rangers to St Mirren was considered as a huge backwards step, but then Rangers did exist and Sevco and their 500 odd season ticket holders are hardly an adequate replacement…huh Grant?!
As the great Irish philosopher D:Ream once said “Things can only get better”.
Here is to Grant Adams progression from the scrap-heap to the Scottish Premier League.

HAIL HAIL!
