So we have had pre season, three competitive matches which I’m glad to say we won and a jaunt over the pond to play in front of thousands of Celtic fans in Philly. So far, so good
Tomorrow marks the start of a tough week with three games and a wee bit of travelling roughly 1,500 miles. We start with a tricky game against Ross County which we should win however they have a great manager and I very much doubt they will roll over. They will be looking for a big scalp, even a draw would delight them so we’ll need to be on our toes and get the points.
Next up is the small matter of facing Helsingborgs IF at Away on Tuesday night 🙂. As far as I’m aware they are currently fifth in their league but only seven points off the lead after 18 games. We should not read anything into that. The fact is they are a good outfit who have hammered in a good few goals on their way to meeting Celtic. Without a shadow of doubt this is our biggest test of the season and we must try and grab a goal or two. No more giving away gift goals. Once again if Lennon gets his tactics right and the team work hard we are capable of beating them.
Finally on Saturday the 25th we have an away trip to ICT. Over the years that we have travelled up their we have had a mix bag of results. Some downright awful and some have been a cake walk. However one things for certain N06 will have his team primed and ready to catch us with a Champions League hangover and give us a good kicking into the bargain. The bhoys will need to show a bit of fight and character up there.
If we can get through the next week with 6points and a good foothold in the Champions League I’ll be delighted. The thought of Champions League nights at Celtic Park is spine tingling but we need to make sure we deal with our league opponents tomorrow first.
Hail, Hail !
