The Booing of Black

OK,It’s old news but remember I’ve been fighting a Cyber war since last Friday nigh so I have not had a chance to write anything.
Now my point of view is you never boo anyone in the team you support, I can moan about them but I don’t do booing.
Why was he booed? could be he was playing at Easter rd or people don’t think 3rd divisin players should be near the national team. Which brings me to my main point.

I grew up in an era when I attended Scotland games every Celtic player that pulled on the blue of Scotland was booed and given abuse by a good proportion of the crowd. I was once removed from Hampden after an altercation with a guy shouting a to Tommy Burns that he was a ‘fenian b*stard’ and ‘no f**kin fenians should be playing for Scotland’. In those days a Celtic player was lucky to be picked anyway. For example in 10 years wee Jinky only ever played 23 games for Scotland. Jimmy McGrory SCOTLAND’S GREATEST EVER goal score got 7 caps.

Not once over those years did I see one comment in an news paper never mind the national news at night about it.
Funny how things change when the guy who is booed plays for the blue side of Glasgow.

Early morning rant over

  1. He should never have been anywhere near that team. The very fact he moved to Sevco in the 3rd division screams to me that even HE didn’t think a Scotland cap was ever likely. Booing, however, was wrong!!

  3. Its because back in those days Celtic and what they stood for was abhorant to the majority of people. Now the same is true for Rangers

  5. I totally agree the booing of Black was wrong, but only because once again it will put the blame on Celtic supporters as the instigators and has given the MSM the ammo they need to print more lies as usual.

I dont agree that no 3rd div player should not be in the Scotland team, i think they would play more for the jersey than some of the players we use.

My thoughts are any player who is playing out his skin for his club no matter what level, should be given at least one chance to play for his country.

  7. You’ve every right to boo if you’ve paid to get in. I’d boo him on a matter of principle – the principle being that he’s a thug and thugs should not be given a Scotland jersey.

  9. He’s lucky it was only booing. Black n’ Blue, says it all; the guy is a thug and an arrogant second rate footballer to boot. My take on the booing is that it was the first opportunity for all fair minded and honest Scottish travelling football supporters to demonstrate their disgust at a member of a domestic league team that cheated and brought shame on Scottish football over the past twenty odd years. I fully applaud anyone who chose to demonstrate their disgust at representatives of any club that has brought this level of corruption and shame to our national game. Apart from a letter to Laurel and Hardy at the SFA what other opportunity does ordinary supporters have to show their feelings? Sev-cogers f.c can expect a lot worse than this as they travel around the nation parading their brand of laundered corruption in the guise of football.
