Remember we need a strong Rangers !

Let me start by saying how delighted I am with the result tonight, 0-2 away from home in Europe must be a good nite, right? However I was more annoyed with our display tonight than I was with the Ross county display,a game in which we rested a few of our ‘big’ players, I thought mulgrew and Matthews who are usually 2 of our most reliable performers were really dissapointing, and their midfield just passed through ours all night, and struggled with their movement all night,  we couldnt hold the ball and decided to launch it every opportunity we got.

And they did have their chances and if it wasn’t for big Fraser  between the sticks we could have been turned over, he was my man of the match, 3 fantastic saves at vital times from him, having said that I m not one to be negative after a win usually, so even though they ran us ragged at times and we almost shot ourselves in the foot a couple of times we STILL could have scored 5 goals tonight and had the tie well and truly in the bag! (why did sammy not just square it!?) Aye, it’s a funny old game right enough, let’s get this mob to paradise and thrash them hopefully recording and aggregate scoreline similar to the Helsinki one and get ourselves into the promised land!

I think the board WILL spend some cash if we qualify using the CL money to fund them and the money from the sale of Ki to harness the debt which should see us financially stable AND in the CL!

And don’t forget folks Celtic NEED a strong rangers to prosper!! Ahahahahaha!!

HERE WE GO AGAIN!!

  1. Fair assesment. We really struggled in the first half. 3 midfielders seemed lost. Far better 2nd half when we reverted to our favoured 4 4 2. We have played better and got beat and we know we can play better than this but a win away from home in Europe was the ultimate goal. Achieved. I also agree that Charlie and Mathews were not as reliable as they have been but I put this down to the apparent confussion in front of them. All in all a decent result that gives us the platform to reach the CL group stages. Lets be happy. Armageddon never felt so good.HH

    1. Aye, let’s not beat ourselves up too much, any away win in Europe is a good result.. As you say, we have played better and lost. However, “winning ugly” is not the Celtic way, so come on guys … focus! There are better teams we need to beat.

  3. I can’t agree that the performance was poor. Helsingborgs had a decent spell and could (should) have scored a goal when Matthews miskicked letting that fella through but once the storm was weathered, I felt we comtrolled the game. Big FF played well but that’s what he’s paid for. I would have liked to see us play further up the pitch right enough, we gave them too much space – in my opinion. It’s all about opinions of course.

Anyway, when are the MSM and Sky Sports News going to start commenting on Celtics’ fantastic away record in Europe? All we got yesterday was “2 wins from 34” & “poor away record in Europe”. (SSN really winds me up – the Jim White influence is very clear)

We are now unbeaten in our last four away games, winning two of them. Brilliant record that stands comparison with any other team. It’s time the b*stards reported that.
