Lets talk about Scotland

Not been blogging for a few days

It all started with a fecked up laptop which has now been rescuse by sticking it into my Pc.

Unfortunately the main reason is the lack of Celtic playing football and the absolute abysmal thought of watching Scotland playing football, well anti football. I always ask myself how can you build a team of confident football players when you encourage them to play 4-1-4-1 at home? Now I’m not daft if you are playing the likes of Serbia away and you want a point then fair enough. However when you play at home surely as Neil Lennon has shown you need to play flexible 4-4-2 /4-3-3 formation. And for God sake trust your players not a bloody clip board !

Sadly Scotland will blow their chances of making it to Brazil because we will play the same system with guys like Kenny miller leading the line. It was apparent today that Millers main talent was his burst of pace which has now gone. How the likes of Snodgrass,Adam and Miller were not dropped at half time for Forrest Maloney Rhodes and the team going to a 3 5 2.

In my opinion the Serbs never looked threatening till we gave them the ball cheaply and put our selves in danger therefor all we had to do was tighten up the midfield and we would have had perfect out balls to Forrest ,Rrhodes and Maloney who is at an age now when he knows how to hold the ball up and make killer passes to the young guys.

As a nation we have been mince for years it all goes back to Roxburgh,Brown and their progigdy Sir Walter of the Cardigan..

We have a choice to make here either we continue in the same vein and fail to qualify or we put faith in a young team, fail to qualify but build a team for the future.Lets be honest for the past 12 years Scotland have been treading water. How about Giving Billy Stark more of an influence and seriously start from scratch. At this point I don’t see that we have anything to loose developing a young team over the next 4 years.

  1. Craig Levien is proving to be an even worser manager than eck McLeish or Wattie the cardigan sell-oot. Levien is all about Levien. His own inflated ego is all that matters to him and as a result he plays favourites rather than a winning team on the park. Anyone with a football brain can see that Foster and Rhodes should have been on playing long before they did. That’s another world cup away then.

  3. Jas buddy, you stole my thunder…I’d planned a blog regarding all of the negative comments I heard of yesterdays match.

As I said on Friday night…I will not lend the team my interest because of the association, not the players.

If I’m rightly informed it wasn’t the players who were at fault, well not completely. If the team should be strong in one particular dimension, given the fact he had the luxury of leaving Commons out altogether and that he has one of Europes most prolific scorers of last season at his disposal….surely it is in attack.

The Scottish defence is most certainly the weakest area of the team, in fact of the potential squad as a whole, that is of course with the exception of the goalkeeping position, which is truely blessed.

I learned my trade under many trusted, experienced and watchful eyes…I learned that in football the biggest mistake anyone can make is to lack respect for your opponents, but to not make them earn it. It is a cardinal sin not to play to your strengths, sure you can set up to counter another teams strengths but you must never rely on the weakest area of your game at the total expense of your match winning qualities.

To set up not to win, but to avoid defeat is cowardice and sheer folly.

I mean him no harm, but Levein may very well be dragging a nation down to new depths of boring, uninspiring ‘unsuccessful-ness’ at a period of time when playing with flair and with not abandonment but with attacking vigour, may well serve to bring the Tartan Army and an entire nation the success it has often craved.

Shame on him….I forecast the sack before too long!
