But they don’t care
After following the decision of the RST Mr Green and his ‘full’ board who ever they are have decided to decline tickets for an away cup tie against Dundee Utd. It seems the Club currently celebrating over 140 days of history have a hit list of SPL clubs that they ‘pay back’ for actively working against the old tax dodging rule breaking Rangers being allowed to stay in the SPL. Well at least they have finally decided to pay back anything.
It is worth reminding peopole at this point that SPL rules state that no club can enter the SPL without previously being part of either the SFL ot Highland League. So a legitmate vote was taken on their application for the newco to join and they were overwhelmingly defeated (By the way I may be wrong but I can’t remember their SPL palls Motherwell playing in a blue strip before)
We all know what happened next with the Football Authorities trying to get them into Div 1 and once again they were soundly defeated. So they are now in their rightfull place. Division three.
So just who are the clubs on this hit list ? I know for a fact that Celtic did not want them in the SPL so the question is. If newco had drawn Celtic away in the cup with the huge windfall via split gate recipes and exposure to a global TV audience would the RST and Mr Green refuse tickets ? Noway they would crawl over hot coals for that.
I hope that supporters of other clubs buy up the tickets and cheer on UTD for the night with the added bonus that you will see Newco’s last cup game of the season.
