Celtic still in the hunt despite poor 1-0 loss in Holland!

He barked all night and incredibly we STILL have a chance of 2nd in this group

When it comes to doing a match report about the team you support it can be hard as you don’t want to be honest, but I have to be and tonight we deserved nothing. We are still in with a shout for 2nd and 3rd place however, but we must beat AC Milan in the next game, Barcelona beat Ajax and Celtic go 2nd, but right now, we have to assess what happened tonight, but keep in mind, we are not out of this competition just yet, Barcelona winning is keeping everyone alive, it is now a 3 way fight for 2nd and 3rd place between AC Milan, Ajax and Celtic

Tonight we could not string 2 passes together, the defence and Forster saved the score from being heavier but looking back on the game we had several half chances to get a goal, sadly tonight  we opened this group back up, we are 2 points behind next up AC Milan, we must win this, had we got something tonight, we beat AC we are through to European football after Christmas, but we are still in it, incredible as it is, we can still finish second

I could name many players who maybe should not have played tonight, Samaras, Commons were two players who just could not even control the ball never mind pass it, Ledley came on and was awful. The defence and keeper did well, not too much we could have done about the Ajax goal 8 minutes into the second half, after Ajax scored had we been more patient and clinical, we could easily be sitting here reading about a good point away to Ajax

We were awful going forward, the question must be asked if Forrest, Samaras and Commons were fit to play. Pukki must be a very angry man tonight, he is fit, he cost a few quid and he gets 10 minutes as he sits and watches unfit players toil to keep the ball and play 5 yard passes. We lack a good attacking midfielder, I have said before I am not a big fan of Mulgrew at centre midfield, Ledley came on and was poor, was he fitter than any of the three players I mentioned, was Pukki?

It is all ifs and maybe’s now, we were just very poor. We missed Scott Brown, but more so we lack a goal scorer. Lennon gambled tonight and to be fair I think we were all happy before kick off to see Forrest, Commons and Samaras starting, looking back, Samaras and Commons were very poor, not because they are poor players, they were unfit. You could tell Commons was still carrying a knock

There was 2 or 3 times Kayal broke forward and had chances to play a slide pass wide into a striker and either had a shot or he played the wrong pass, we had nothing in attack tonight. I said in my last blog on TCN we lack a good attacking midfielder and a striker and tonight it showed. Even if all players were fit and Brown was available, we are lacking a good 6 yard box striker. Lenny MUST fill this gap quickly

We are 2 points behind AC Milan, incredibly, if we beat them at home and Ajax loses to Barcelona, we are 2nd going into the last game. With AC Milan and Ajax playing each other, so take everything to one side, we are still in this group, we can still get out of it, we can also finish 3rd, two games to go and AC, Ajax and Celtic can all finish 2nd, 3rd or 4th

Let’s not give up yet, we are faithful through and through, AC Milan is now the biggest game of our season, we win that, and we can, we will have players fit. Lennon took 2 players on loan today; I only heard, I have no idea who they are or how old they are, let’s hope they are decent

Tonight was hard to take, but we can get out this group or have European football after Christmas. We need to believe, AC game will be HUGE
Tonight was hard to take, but we can get out this group or have European football after Christmas. We need to believe, AC game will be HUGE in terms of where we could finish, the permutations for the last 2 games stack in our favour, Ajax have Barcelona, we have AC, in the last game, if we are 2nd, Ajax and AC play and if they draw, we can finish second. We can do this.

We can still do this
