After the disappointment of midweek it was important today Celtic got a win. I don’t care how we were going to get it today we just needed 3 points to get the heads back up a little. With Mulgrew amongst the injured along with Kayal and a few others we still had a decent 11 to start with
The game was NEVER a spectacle and the weather was awful, rain and strong wind. Celtic had most of the ball with Hibs looking dangerous on the attack and in the 33rd minute it was Celtic who went 1-0 up with what was to be the winning goal, good play by Celtic, passing left and right the ball came to Scott Brown, playing with is head up he spotted a ledley run down the left channel and slotted a brilliant pass through, Ledley looked up to see the run of Pukki and the Finnish striker slotted home well to get his first goal in a long time and one he really needed
There really was not much else to report today apart from ref Bobby Madden who was rotten. He denied Celtic a blatant penalty when Izzy was through in the 2nd half, 3 Hibs players around him he got the ball past them only to be tripped up, the ref booked Izzy for diving, same as the one on Pukki last week. Pattern emerging here!
Celtic had 62% possession with 10 shots 9 on target today with 5 of these shots coming from Kris Commons. Picking a man of the match is hard, but Nir Biton for me is turning out to be a very good player. He never gets anxious he is very relaxed on the ball and now he is getting a run of games in the side with Kayal out injured he is doing well, so Nir Biton was my man of the match.
Really not more I can say other than as a Celtic fan I want the fans to stop arguing with each other, I thought the crowd today was low I would say 30,000 tops at the game today, the Weather was poor and perhaps travel was in issue for many. But 3 points, still unbeaten, Pukki got back on the score sheet so we take the positives from today and move on to Hearts at Home next week in the league live on TV at a 12:45 kick off. As ever TCNLiveblog will be there to bring live text commentary for people who can’t watch or listen
Full time – Celtic 1-0 Hibernian, in a game we will forget about tomorrow, but 3 points and we move onwards.
TCN Match Reporter Man of the match – Nir Biton. Very controlled performance once more, if he keeps this up the lad will be a player for sure. In the league when he has played we have won
