Commons double as Celtic beat Motherwell 3-0

Commons makes it 1-0
Commons makes it 1-0

Kris Commons again showed his growing worth to Celtic with 2 goals with the other goal coming from a McManus own goal as Celtic ran out easy 3-0 winners against Motherwell. Celtic are still unbeaten in the league today was our 10th win on the spin We were not in 1st gear today more 3rd gear as we plugged away to get a deserved win. On the back of  the break the team had in Turkey last week. With a few players out injured we started with Fisher at right back and that is where Motherwell attacked throughout the game

Commons 1 0
2-0 and his 2nd goal of the game

Celtic took the lead early on when Ledley played Stokes in, Stokes got the shot away that was saved, it fell to Commons and the form he is in, 1-0 Celtic and again a brilliant start and Commons on the score sheet. 2-0 came on 38 minutes when the same move as the first goal led to Stokes being brought down, should have been a  red for the keeper but the very poor ref today gave a yellow, up stepped Commons, 2-0 and Common’s 19th goal of the season

Celtic had numerous chances in the first half headers from Ambrose, Mulgrew and Van Dijk but the half ended 2-0 and the game looked over at this stage. The teams came out for the 2nd half and Motherwell had a real go and had a few good chances mainly an almost open goal miss by McFadden. On the 68th minute a superb pass from left to right from Mulgrew, Forrest took it in his stride put in a great cross and there was ex-Celtic player McManus to kick the ball into his own net, 3-0 and game over. Iain Vigurs had a great chance as did McFadden again with clear shots from just inside the box going just wide. 67kpv79 minutes brought a crazy decision by ref Bobby Madden, the ball was loose 30 yards out, Stokes slid in and won the ball and got a straight red. Disgraceful decision and one the club should appeal. All in a good 3 points today. Still unbeaten, another clean sheet and we are starting to get a gap at the top of the league
