Stop Moaning, Be Happy – Transition Season 1

Hail,Hail,

I’ve heard a lot of moaning about Celtic’s ‘poor form’ compared to last season. Firstly last season was a one off gift. Brendan Rodgers was brought in and apart from a couple of additions he brought the best out of players who were flagging under Ronny.

Phase one complete: Team stabilised and improved.

This season was always going to be year one of a couple of seasons of transition as Brendan tries to build a Champions League team for the long term.

Also, we have had a bad season for key players being out injured. This has forced Brendan to blood a few youngsters sooner than he would have like ,and that makes a big difference in terms of team cohesion. Therefore we have probably had too many draws than we would like but we’re still top.

During the summer and winter windows the manager has brought in seven new players : Scott Bain,Hendry,Commper,Hayes,Ntcham, Musonda and Edouard. He has also gave Ajer, Miller, Kouassi and Ralston big game experience.

We must also consider we have Ralston, Morgan, Christie and Allen out on loan. Most of these players will play a part in the future evolution of the first team.

I expect next season also to be transitional therefore we can expect a few more ups and downs as Brendan puts the finishing touches to ‘his’ Celtic team.

So lets cut the moaning. This season we have won the League cup, still in the Scottish and well clear in the league. For those who are moaning all I’d say is I can’t understand why. When things get tough that’s when we support our team.

Wullie – Mon the barrel hoops.
