I went along to the game on Saturday thinking that we would win 2 – 0 in what would be a tough game. Well I was half right it was a tough game with Celtic players being kicked all over the park.
This was always going to be a big test for us with our two top players from last season missing but apart from some dodgy defending at times the team came through with flying colours and thumped in five goals.
Games against Dundee Utd are always entertaining. They are a team who do try to cause you problems instead of just turning up to play anti football. Saturday was no exception as Utd could have scored three. The Unlikely hero of the day and man of the match was Lucas Zaluska. The much maligned keeper pulled off some great saves. I’ve never had a problem with his shot stopping however he does seem to come off his line at the wrong times which is a complete contrast to Fraser Forster who never budged from his. So we still need a keeper.
With Kayal missing Ki stepped into a deeper midfeild position with Joe Leadly freed up to move forward. Both played really well and it was great to see them getting beyond the strikers and being rewarded with goals for their efforts. Kris Commons also had a better game and was unlucky not to score himself when his shot came off the post.
He was replaced by James Forrest who turned in a great performance capped off with a goal. The big down side of the day was loosing H88per especially after he had just opened his account for the season. Hope we get him back asap. Stokesy is simply on fire just now scoring in every game of the season so far. If he keeps working hard he’ll break the 30 barrier easily.
Big Charlie Mulgrew turned in another great performance this time at left back. Some of the big mans passing is sublime.
So all and all a great day. You can see match pics HERE
