The duo started out playing informally at parties but in February 2011 the guys went full time and have not looked back since. It is a bit of a change of gear for Paddy who was a science Teacher and his Dad Jacky who was a professional football player. However given their success up till now it was a wise move. Jacky played for a fine list of clubs including Liverpool, Tranmere Rovers, Luton Town, Notts County, Wigan athletic, Morecambe, Altringham and Cork Hibs.
The band have had great success over in America being invited on radio shows and featured in the press but the highlight of the year

I had the pleasure of meeting Paddy and Jacky recently when they played a gig at the Squirrel bar in Glasgow. One of the great things about a Ryans gig is how the band get the audience involved it really feels more like a party than a gig. Paddy also takes a lot of time to chat with fans on social networks like Twitter and Facebook.
The duo have been nominated in two categories Top Duo and Best new Irish Artists in this year’s Irish Music Awards and we’d like to ask you to take the time to vote for the guys. You can cast your votes HERE .With a new CD due to be released and a gig supporting Charlie and the bhoys at Barrowlands on Good Friday next year looks set to be another cracker for the band.
