We need a strong Rangers

Deary me how long are the media in this country going to spin this utter clap trap which emanates from their puppet masters at Ibrox? The only people who seem to feel we need a ‘strong Rangers’ are that club ,their deluded support and their media puppets.
Yesterday big Charlie Mulgrew was done up a kipper by the Lamb eaters and in turn gave them the headline they wanted. Sorry to break into semantics here but did Charlie actually say he  “would take Rangers back in SPL” ? Let’s see. Asked if was down to him, would he have Rangers back in the SPL, the Celtic defender said: “If it was my choice? Probably, yes. So he actually said the words ‘probably’ and ‘yes’ did he say the words ‘unequivalently’ and ‘yes’ ? No but it got the desired headlines. At the end of the day that’s all academic because I’m sure in hindsight he may have said what we all think he should have said, something along the lines of ‘Why you asking me about a third division side, I’m here to talk about Celtic’.
So yesterday was another example of spin over substance in the same vein as letting a nonsense moonbeams quote about Rangers delivering a turnover of £100m go unchallenged.
Celtic do not need a ‘strong Rangers’ or any other form of Rangers to win matches. What we need is eleven players on the park who are fully committed to playing for Celtic in every game in every tournament and at any stage regardless of the opposition or position in the SPL.
The main reason we are toiling to beat teams in the SPL is because the players on the park do not seem motivated enough. That is our players and manager’s fault and no one else’s. It’s down to our players now to prove they are worthy of wearing the Hoops in every game. If not there is a transfer window in the summer and they can go somewhere else and try to see if it comes close to playing for Celtic in front of our magnificent support.
As for the Lamb eaters it’s about time that Celtic grew a pair and took nothing to do with them. What’s the point of having new ways to broadcast your own media and message if you are going to continuously line the pockets of your enemies?

The perfect summation. My dear old father, a non-bigoted, Celtic daft sufferer of Celtic misfortunes and reveller in Celtic glories, constantly rebuked the Parkhead board for washing its dirty linen in public, before a little equilibrium was introduced by Jock Stein, even though it was often just a change of washing powder rather than a new machine. Celtic business, especially anything sordid or undermining, seemed to seep very easily into the media mops. On the other side of the Clyde, where a certain extinct species used to reside, positive spin was the only button ever pressed on the tumble dryer. If only the washhouse gossip had been a little more revealing, there may have been a few irremovable stains highlighted in the blue jerseys, like bigotry, influence and bias. The media tradition of fanning the flames of one club while dampening the fire of the other is seemingly ingrained in the MSM. That is why I agree, something I often did not do in my youth, with my dear old pop. It is time to stop having our dirty laundry displayed in public and, for me, the ONLY way is to restrict our washing to the modern media laundry of our internet sites. It is also crucial to a good wash to have some expertise in operating the machines. It is certainly not a job that can be wisely or safely delegated to young men whose talent is based in their feet with very little further up their anatomies.

  3. Look at it this way, if Big Charlie had said the rangers shouldnt be allowed anywhere near the SPL then we all know that the RABID side of Glasgow would be calling for his death right now. I do agree that Celtic need to come out with all guns blazing and shoot down all this shite about the rangers. I for one cant stsnd the shit that gets pumped out by chuckles green and his hoes,

    1. Charlie should say ‘no comment’ and nothing else. The sooner he learns this the better. He knows what the press are like, so why give them ammunition.
We do not need any kind of Sevco. They had a chance to renew themselves, but came back as the same old institution – full of hatred, bile and supremacy. They are irrelevant, a joke! What they stand for has nothing to do with football and respect for others. They will do the same thing all iver again, given the chance. All decent minded people are sick of them.

      1. My second last sentence should read ‘They will do the same thing all over again, given the chance. Sorry about that.

  5. “Next question”.
That should be Celtics’ official response to any request for an opinion on matters concerning the new club from the MSM or Sky Sports News. SSN are a disgrace – right at this very minute they are airing an “article” on Mulgrews comments. They “spoke to fans” in Glasgow to gauge opinion. They spoke to two Orcs. They are pathetic.
    Don’t give these bastards ammunition.

  7. This is entitled a short history of Scottish football in my lifetime.
We had a strong Rangers in the aftermath of Sourness taking over. This in my opinlion killed off the game at the top flight in Scotland, from this moment onward as Rangers fielded players no other team could afford.
Take for instance the period of Celtic’s preeminence, from mid sixties to say late Seventies, the upshot of which was Celtic were in two European Cup finals winning one, rfc got to two Cup winners Cup finals winning one, Scotland’s National team qualified regularly for World cup finals, the Hibs, Aberdeen and Dundee United were brilliant to watch. Aberdeen and Dundee United went onto Euro successes of their own.
The league system ( at the behest of the msm, namely Alex Cameron) was changed our game after a brief flurry from the New Firm then hit the doldrums as players and fans got tired of watching the same ten teams play over and over again in leagues and cups.
Shortly after this in the late eighties, a strong rfc emerged, after several years of hun dominance did we get the same result as a strong Celtic? The simple answer is no. Our game declined to a pitiful level. Apart from the bright spark of Celtic reaching the Europa cup final and the dreariness of Watty’s team doing the same and the shame that the hun fans heaped on Scotland by their behaviour in Manchester, there has been nothing much to crow about.
Do we need a strong Rangers? On the historical evidence, I think the question should be do we need Rangers at all?

  9. You are spot on about SSN ,chief chanty rassler jim white almost wetting himself as he trots out the latest in what looks to be the meeja led campaign, as Ryan Stevenson of Hearts is allowed his say,you would think Hearts players had more to concern themselves with.

  11. BBC reporting new proposals by SFL on reconstruction would include Celtic and rankers colt teams being included as insurance against them moving to an outside league in the future apparently backed by our board and sevco!!! ahm gobsmacked!!

    1. I would wait to hear what Celtic actually have to say mate. The whole idea is a nonsense but what’s new ?
