Broken Records as ten men Celtic fall in Aberdeen

12 Minutes in and the writing was on the wall

The clean sheet record is gone as the unbeaten run but as football people we know these things can’t last forever. To lose out on this tonight and get beat in the Scottish Cup by Aberdeen shows maybe Aberdeen are a better side these days.  But the reality is 12 minutes into this game and the sending off killed the game or so we thought. Van Dijk did foul last man but the ref was terrible tonight, 1/10 from me, we had 2 penalty claims turned down.

It took a 30 yard rocket to finally beat Forster and his record when Hayes found space to shoot, so at 1-0 down and a man down it looked bad then another blow when 1-0 became 2-0, Adam Rooney getting another past Forster who must be sick of the site of Aberdeen. At 2-0 down at half time it looked like a close the door job and see if we can nick something but we totally run the 2nd half

We made it 2-1 when good link up play with Matthews and Brown seen the latter square to Forrest who side footed high into the net. Griffiths who was carrying a knock was replaced by Samaras with 15 minutes to go but we kept at them, we had half chances. Forster in goal had very little to do 2nd half as Celtic kept it Rooney V Ambrose at the back with Biton sitting.

We gave it our all in the 2nd half but Aberdeen came out to protect a 2-0 lead and they did it well. Sometimes you don’t want to but you have to say “Fair Play” to the other side. The goal that broke Forster’s run is a contender for goal of the season and  the way we battled at 2-0 was brilliant.

As a fan I am annoyed as anyone we lost but I am proud of my team tonight for almost coming back to 2-2 to keep something alive to fight for. Now both records are gone we play for pride. I won’t talk ill off my Manager or players I will leave that to the glory hunters. Also the ref had a NIGHTMARE

My man of the match, again, Biton, this kid is a class act

  1. Shame the run came to an end but now we have the opportunity to experiment our formation with the Champions League qualifiers in mind. I still think we missed a trick by not bringing back Watt in Jan but heh life goes on hail hail.

  2. Aye, crap for it to go but these things always end.. Watt knows how we play, he will be ready for the Summer and he gets more experience abroad . #HH
