Celtic 0 Atletico Madrid 1

The bhoys lost to the odd goal to Atletico Madrid tonight and it was an “odd goal”. Kayal either judge the flight of the ball or he just bailed out the road. From where I was sitting for a split second I though Forster had got enough on it to turn it around the post but it was a powerful shot and it basically just deflected off his hand into the goal. Bit of a poor goal to loss but to be honest they could have scored a couple more.

Celtic v Atletico Madrid

Big game for the bhoy’s tonight when we take on Atletico Madrid who are without doubt a top side but not unbeatable. Celtic showed enough in the second half of the first game to show they are not the best at defending and they can be panicked by quick inter passing when attacked.
The truth is we started poorly in Madrid and as usual shot our selves in the foot by conceding a cheap goal. Overall we were a wee bit unfortunate as I feel we done enough to at get a draw.

Celtic v Stade Rennais

Celtic host the return leg against Stade Rennais tonight at Celtic park a game which I believe we can win if we put in the same effort we showed in the first game in France.

That night we shot our selves in the foot by gifting them a goal straight out of a slapstick movie. Over the piece we limited Rennes to very few chances while at the same time created a few of our own.

Stade Rennais v Celtic – Europa League

Stade Rennais v Celtic
Celtic face a talented Stade Rennais side in their third Europa league game tonight. Celtic are currently propping up group I on goal difference -2 to Stade Rennais – 1 with both clubs sitting on 1 point. For Celtic to really give ourselves a chance of qualification we need to do something we have not done in a long time. Win away from home.

Celtic V Udinese. Two ways of looking at it.

European football returns to Celtic Park tonight and there are two ways of looking at that.
The first way is that this game and the other Europa League ties are bonus games in a tournament that we won’t win therefore the manager, fans and players should see it as such and chill out a bit. It’s a great distraction from the SPL, which gives the players and the coaching team a chance to test themselves against a higher level of opposition than they would normally face in the SPL.
